Originated as a blog for my computer science class, but has been transformed into a place where I can share my thoughts. Not everyone will agree/approve/like what I have to say, and I understand that, but just respect my views. Thanks and much love, Hannah Michaelsen

Larry Hechler: Hardware Lecture
Since I am not the most tech-savvy person, I learned a lot from today's lecture. The most interesting thing I learned was the hard drive itself. The first thing I did not know about it was that even if you took the battery out, your computer would still run as long as you have the power cord. I always thought that the battery was necessary even while a laptop was plugged in. The second piece of information I found useful was the "memory effect." I had no idea that a person was supposed to unplug the power cord and use their laptop until the battery went way down, then you recharge it. That will be something I remember because I constantly do that with my computer. Since the presentation, I have reformed my ways, so hopefully I'm helping my laptop survive another year or two. The final thing I found interesting was that the same company makes parts for both Dell and MAC, yet, Macs are more expensive. It is just ridiculous that the drastic price difference is the result of the brand name.
